Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets
Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets; a Star Trek SIMulation
PROMOTIONAL POLICY
Ranks within the Allied Confederation of Planets are used only within the SIM context.  Outside of the SIM, they are purely fuctional.  Ranks within SIMulations are subject to the GM of the SIMulation, and only the GM.  While any member can have whatever rank they wish to play, GMs are responsible for making sure that ranks are handled within reason.  Ranks on the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets website will only be mentioned when they have some In Character significance, such as in the Plotlines section of the website.
JOINING POLICY
The Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets shall be open to all people
POSITIONS WITHIN ACIP
All positions within the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets are In Character with no Out of Character authority, except that granted by others.  People in any of the following positions are required to SIM, in addition to what is written.
Game Managers
Game Managers include, but are not limited to the Commanding Officers of the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets. These people are the ones solely responsible for the running of a unit, such as a ship, starbase within the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets.  It is recommended that GMs over units such as ships and starbases do a weekly report.  GMs in positions such such as Fleet Commanders, R&D Director and Academy Commandant are asked to do a bi-weekly SIM Status report.   These are asked to be done so that information regarding ACIP can be kept as current as possible and to keep everything as consistent as possible on an In Character level.

No GMs have any authority over any other, but all GMs are expected to work together as a team.

Commander in Chief
The Commander in Chief's responsibility is to act as a mediator between parties. The Commander in Chief may select a Deputy to help in this duty.  The Commander in Chief and his Deputy's authority extends no further than any COs involved in a mediation session allow.

If the Commander in Chief makes any decisions on policy, and there are objections from the Commanding Officers, a vote must be called by the CinC and held to determine the course of action. For a vote to pass, it must achieve a 66% majority.

Founder
The Founder's responsibility is to act as a Check on the Commander in Chief.  They are to hold no post higher than Commanding Officer within the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets and while permitted to voice their opinion, they are permitted no votes.  The Founder is the only one who can remove the Commander in Chief, and must confirm any policies that are created before they can be added as official Policies of the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets.

The Founder is the only member of the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets who may appoint a Commander in Chief upon the resignation or removal of a current Commander in Chief.  Appointments must be confirmed by the Commanding Officers of the Allied Confederation of Interstellar Planets with a 75% majority.
